Tomboy/Tomdroid Sync?
An Apollo III Communicatons' FAQ - Updated December 29, 2014

A year after the closing of Ubuntu One, I'm finally starting to sync my Tomboy notes between devices.  It was hard not having this facility.  After a lot of work in finding this resolution, then in setting it up, I'm providing the simplest steps for others who may have had problems.
This page is in development.

This is performed on an Ubuntu system version 14.04LTS.

Prerequesits are:

Apache and PHP which is easily installed from the Software Center just by typing in the names.

From a working version of Ubuntu you should easily be up and running with the following commands.

$ sudo sh -c "echo 'deb /' >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/owncloud.list"
$ wget
sudo apt-key add - < Release.key

$sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install owncloud

Download grauphel from

Extract and copy the grauphel directory to the apps folder of the owncloud root directory.  You can find this directory by looking in the apache2 config files.  By default it'll be:

Now log into the webpage of your owncloud (ie http://localhost/owncloud) then clock on the "Apps" link, click the "+" Apps and click Grauphel to Enable the Grauphel/Tomboy note Server.  This will add the Tomboy sync app to the Apps menu.  When you click on that it'll show you the link to type into your Tomboy or Tomdroid client to sync it.

You'll have to install the php oauth module to complete the configuration.

$ sudo apt-get install php5-oauth
$ sudo service apache2 restart

That's all it is to it.  It might appear like a lot, but the installation (on Ubuntu) is very easy, it's actually easier done than said.

The owncloud server has many features.  The features include the ability to provide a different login for everyone in your company (or each family or club member).

This walk through is still a work in progress.  I would appreciate any questions and comments of which I'll use to make things clearer and easier.  Please address your questions/comments at:
